East Orange VA Medical Center, NJ: Primary Care/ OP Surgery Renovations - in constructionThis project will renovate parts of the entry and levels to improve ambulatory care and day surgery functions. The project will enhance patient flow, wayfaring and circulation paths. Scheduled and non-scheduled clinic intake processing spaces will be relocated and enlarged. A new discharge processing space will be created to enhance interview privacy. Recovery rooms will be consolidated and enlarged for increased day surgery case load. A four-room endoscopy/bronchoscopy suite will be added. East Orange VA Medical Center, NJ: Improve Outpatient Environment - in constructionThis project will enhance patient circulation and improve clinic intake and exit processing spaces. Included are reconfigured laboratories, a new pharmacy compounding unit and an OP phlebotomy unit. A new sample and blood delivery pneumatic tube system will interconnect the MICU, ER, and ORs. Preadmission testing will be relocated.Three areas with twenty four exam rooms will be upgraded and enhanced.
West Haven VA Medical Center, CT - Coronary Care Unit - completedThe sixteen bed Coronary Care Unit/Ward was a gut renovation. Included are computerized central monitoring, modular system furniture, custom patient headwalls, individual toilet console units with special exhausts, sliding and hinged doors for code-call emergency access, a special procedure room and a unit-dose medications room.
Bronx VA Medical Center, NY - Tuberculosis Modifications - in constructionWe designed Tuberculosis Modifications at more than sixty locations including outpatient clinics, patient privacy isolation bedrooms, labs and support spaces. The renovation involves upgrading HVAC systems, adding HEPA filters, humidity control and added isolation rooms. The project is being carefully phased to minimize disruptions. Bronx VA Medical Center, NY - Ventilator Bed Unit - about to be bidThe sixteen bed unit will be developed in the existing nursing home. Included are medical headwalls, dialysis connections, enhanced lighting and direct observation windows. A roof top mechanical equipment enclosure will be constructed.
Bronx VA Medical Center, NY - Renovate Nursing Stations, Phases I & II - completedThe project included renovating nine stations at the Nursing Home, Med/Surg wards, the SICU, MICU and CCU. The project included custom designed counters recessed CRTs, printer stations and cart alcoves.
Castle Point VA Medical Center, NY - Ward E-2 Patient Privacy Renovation - completedThis gut renovation enhanced patient privacy. The twenty-seven bed unit included private and semi-private bedrooms with ADA compliant private baths, a nurse station with indirect illumination and modular system furniture, head nurse office, training room, TB isolation rooms with ante-rooms and rail-type patient headwalls.
Lenox Hill Hospital, New York - Coronary Care Unit* - completedThis renovation of a hospital wing included 15 patient rooms. Features included custom designed breakaway glazed observation doors, central monitoring desk and custom designed nurse stations, fluoroscopy room, medications room, and restful low-glare indirect lighting. The CCU received a Lumen Award for lighting design excellence. *Designed while a partner at another firm.
St. Luke's-Roosevelt Medical Center, New York - Emergency Room/OPD* - completedThe $3,200,000 addition and renovation included outpatient clinics, flexible treatment stations, trauma and cardiac rooms, ENT, radiology, medications, covered ambulance court, stress-reducing lighting and a central skylit systems furniture nurse station. The design received an IBD Award for institutional design excellence. *Designed while a partner at another firm.
